Why do you issue lists on a state-by-state and regional basis?

Hedge fund lists intended for investors are very expensive and are usually nationwide or global in scope. For investors this makes sense, as their capital can easily flow across borders. However, many financial job-hunters would like to find a lucrative hedge fund job or internship in their home state or region, which may be outside of New York or London. They aren’t willing to pay thousands for nationwide lists with a large amount of performance data they don’t need. Hedge Fund Job Lists provides up to date contact lists with these motivated job seekers in mind.

Why do you combine some states into regions instead of providing them individually?

Our lists combine states with a small amount of listings into larger regions because we want to provide larger lists for a better value to our customers. Since all of our lists are researched internally and not bought, our research group has to do an equal amount of work for each listing, regardless of whether there are 50 listings in the state or 500. Demand is not equal across each listing; some states have a far greater concentration of financial professionals and these usually also have a much larger number of firms for us to list. If we were to make individual lists for states with very few listings, it would throw off our pricing scheme across our larger lists, forcing us to raise prices in order for us to justify the work needed to research lists in smaller states. In other words, if we offered individual lists for every state, the prices for the most popular state lists would go up. By bundling our smaller lists together we are able to offer a consistently low pricing scheme across every region.

Will you ever offer more individual lists?

Probably. Our decision to create an individual state list will be entirely a matter of how much demand there is for a given state. If we find that there is a consistent demand for new individual state lists, we will make them available.
